Kate Schneider's Biography
Kate Schneider is a Massachusetts native and graduate of McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. After a few years working in business research and social entrepreneurship in New York City, Kate opted for a slower-paced life and took off for Costa Rica. She spent 2008 volunteering for WorldTeach, a Harvard-based nonprofit that sends volunteer teachers all over the world. She lived in La Violeta, a small town in the central valley, and taught English at the local primary school. Upon return from Costa Rica, Kate founded Buena Beans, a coffee business dedicated to raising funds for local primary schools in coffee producing communities in Costa Rica. In addition to serving as Director of Buena Beans, Kate is also pursuing a Master of Public Administration in Sustainable Development Policy at the University of Washington.
